I have always loved being outside. For me, days have always seemed too short, except when I was in school–then the days felt too long. God gave me the gift of enjoying his beauty as a daily gift. From all the skill sets and work-related experience, I’ve felt that I have equipped myself with enough training and knowledge to pass it on.

Hi, I’m leroy.

I’m married to Peggy Robinson Thorns, the mother of my three wonderful, beautiful, smart children.  We met in Washington, DC., although we are both from Charlotte, NC. I love working with my hands. Now that I have retired, I have time to work on wood projects and use different tools to create various kinds of items. That is one of the gifts that came from James (Jim). Before I married Peggy, I played around with education for a few years at NC Central in Durham, NC, and Maryland Eastern Shore.

After college, it was time to get a job. Someone told me that Frito-Lay was hiring. I stayed with them for 22 years until I retired, and that is when my entrepreneurial journey started. In the early stages of our lives, my wife and I got our lives together by joining a good church in the DC area. After the birth of our first two children,
we moved back to North Carolina. I have always
enjoyed working with the youth. After relocating,
we joined forces with another church where I worked with the youth ministry. You can read more about
me in the book.
